Errol is a Great Grey Owl.

After a long Hot summer recovering from a broken arm and leg resulting from a car accident on May 15th, this was my first painting since the Red Trucks.

Yes....it was my painting arm.

Red Trucks for Village Gallery of Arts Challenge

I finished my red trucks for the VGA challenge.  They will be for sale while hanging in the Gallery during the Month of May 2015.

They will be displayed vertically along with around 89 other artists works.

These are two different trucks.  One and two are views of a 1959 Chevy Apache 31 Pickup.

Three and four are views of a 1959 Chevy Viking 60 flatbed truck.

Turbulent Skies

After our fun exercise at the Arts Guild meeting 3-26-15, I was inspired to give it a go on my own.....and since my muse has been a wanderlost?? is that right?...not sticking around with me anyway, I had to jump at the first hint of inspiration......here is my valiant effort at collage.  It was interesting and fun.  I have a few more ideas I would like to try........First, I will finish my painting assignment for the 2015 Village Arts Gallery challenge.  I will post the set of four when they are completed.

"Rainbow Finch"

Well...we decided to keep the Seagull painting..."Mine" so I needed an alternate.  I chose a Rainbow Finch, native to Australia.  I plan to submit it for the bird painting sale at the Audubon Bird Festival in November.

5 views of Seagulls that landed on the hood of my husbands work van on various times he stopped at a fast food restaurant in Astoria, OR.  He sent me the pictures throughout the year labeled...."my friend."  I never knew what to expect.  Cracked me up every time.  I thought putting them together would be fun.  I may use this for my submission to the Audubon Society Bird festival 6 x 6 painting sale.  (I may paint something else for the festival.)

Armored Carousel Horse

Two images of an Armored Carousel Horse which are typically the lead horse on Carousels. It's the horse the carousel operator counts as he passes during the ride.

This fellow is "carved" in leather, then painted with acrylics.
Leather carving and painting in acrylics are not new to me.....putting the two together was new. I usually stain tooled leather. I was pleased with the result.

Been Busy with the Sandgren Paint Out

St. Helens Maritime Heritage Festival

Join the Columbia Arts Guild at the festival, July 26-28, downtown on the water front.

There will be lots of art booths, food and historical exhibits including Native American displays.
