"Derain Passed by 7th and Driftwood" 12" x 16" Oil on Canvas. Sold. I miss you guys but the pine trees are inspiring. Another artist loaned me a book about Fauve artists and Andre' Derain was my favorite so I went out and tested his style.

I like your trees in the Derain style. Looks loose and colorful. I miss you too. I hope you have been enjoying the coastal life.

I love Derain too. most excellent to do homage. I check in to the guild site to see if it is still functional...not much action so glad to see your entry. I recently did two small paintings for the adoption event at the gallery in Cedar Mill after studying paintings of flowers by Morris Graves. forgot to take photos....they were ok but lacked the sparkle I hoped to achieve...I was working in oil and Graves used paper and water media. fun to do the experiments. I am still enjoying the magazines you so kindly passed along to me. I am thinking you are happy in Yachats. We are fond of Waldport and think sometimes about making the transition.....we seem to be too happy here in our woodland....spring is especially delightful....Be well. Mary Duvall
